Commbank Innovation Lab
The Innovation Lab married the need for a cutting edge space to introduce clients to CommBank’s innovation process, explore the Bank’s latest products and yet which could also accelerate and incubate the next generation of products.
We kitted out the Lab with beacon activated tablets for wayfinding as well as compelling digital experiences for the guests including a big data analytics wall, a products of innovation showcase and a VR game. I was the creative lead on all digital installations.
LOCATION AWARE TABLET
To ensure CommBank customers and visitors get the most possible from their lab experience, we created a personalised tour guide. Leveraging Bluetooth beacons throughout the lab space, each tablet automatically detects its location and guides users with relevant content.
GESTURE CONTROLLED WALL
The Products of Innovation zone presented CommBank’s market-leading range of products, inviting users to dive into their features, explore customer needs they meet, and understand how the innovation process was applied during their creation.
Seeking a better way to facilitate rapid idea development we created a multi-user whiteboard tool from scratch. The tool works across massive 84” touch screens, creative pen displays, and visitor’s personal tablet devices to provide a seamless collaboration experience.

A vision for the future.
As the grand finale for visitors, we crafted a remarkably detailed future retail environment using the latest generation Oculus Rift virtual reality headsets. Two journeys enable users to experience both customer and merchant perspectives on the future environment.
